Nishi has written two Heart & Mind books - A Friendship Story: Heart & Mind and Heart & Mind: Meet A New Friend. The books teach children how to take positive action, live in the present moment, and let go of heavy emotions. The characters, Heart & Mind, describe how we are multifaceted and are able to love unconditionally and live in the present moment (Heart) as well as, take action and solve problems (Mind).
Nishi has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in public health from the University of Illinois of Chicago. She has worked with various nonprofits on bettering communities for ten years and currently is the director of the Lively Community Foundation, an organization dedicated to uplifting the wellness in the world through tools, education, and community. The Foundation particularly works with individuals who have experienced deep trauma due to personal or global events. The Foundation was created by Jess Lively, a podcaster and teacher who has helped more than 6,000 students and 12 million podcast listeners live more joyful and fulfilling lives. The Foundation provides free modalities to those ready to release trauma, and grant programs are available to train more individuals in healing modalities.
Inspired by her work with children through teaching yoga, Nishi created Joy Parade, an online space dedicated to teaching children and adults how to bring presence into their day-to-day living.
